4. Sensitive information
Matchmaking often involves what the law calls special category data. Depending on what you choose to share, this can include your religion or religious practice, ethnic origin,
health information and sexual orientation. We only collect and use this information with your explicit consent, which we ask for in our Client Consent Form when you join, because it helps us make suitable introductions.
You do not have to give us any of it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. If you do, we will stop using that information, although this may mean we can no longer provide some or all of our service. Please do not include sensitive details in our website enquiry form or in your first message. We will ask for them separately if you become a client.

To send you news and offers, where you have agreed (see section 9)
6. Our lawful bases
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your information. We rely on:
Contract: to provide the matchmaking service you have asked for, or to take steps before you sign up
Consent: for sensitive information, for sharing your profile and photographs with potential matches, and for marketing
Legal obligation: for example, tax and accounting records
Legitimate interests: for running and improving our business, keeping our service safe and handling complaints, where this does not override your rights
7. Who we share your information with
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
We share information only where needed:
With potential matches, but only what you have agreed to share in your Client Consent Form. We will not give out your surname, address, phone number, email or workplace until you have agreed to an introduction.
With service providers who help us run the business, such as website hosting (Hostinger), email and messaging tools, payment providers and IT support. They may only use your information on our instructions.
With professional advisers such as accountants and solicitors
With the police, regulators or courts where we are legally required to, or to protect someone's safety
We use WhatsApp to communicate with clients. WhatsApp is run by Meta and has its own privacy policy. Tell us if you would prefer to be contacted another way.
8. Confidentiality and introductions
We treat everything you tell us as confidential. Your profile is never published online or shared openly. We only present your details to a potential match when we think there is a genuine fit and, where you have agreed, with your approval of what is shared. Once someone has been introduced to you, we cannot control how they use the information they receive. We ask all clients to keep what they learn confidential and to use it only to get to know a potential match.
9. Marketing
We will only send you marketing emails or messages if you have agreed or you are an existing client, and every message will include an easy way to opt out. You can opt out at any time by contacting us. We will still send you messages about your membership and introductions, as these are part of the service.
10. Transfers outside the UK
Some of our providers, or clients living overseas, may mean your information is handled outside the UK. Where this happens we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses or a recognised adequacy arrangement. Sharing your profile with an overseas match only happens with your agreement.

Your browser or our website host may use essential technical storage that is needed to make the site load and stay secure. This does not identify you personally. 12. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it.

Enquiries that do not become clients: [for up to 12 months]
Financial records: 6 years, as required by tax law
Marketing preferences: until you opt out
You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will do so unless we are legally
